ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effects of quality control circle(QCC)in improving the compliance of asthma/COPD outpatients handling inhaler devices. METHODS:By simple random sampling method,90 asthma/COPD outpatients receiving Tiotropium bromide powder for inhalantion,Salmeterol xinafoate and fluticasone propionate powder for inhalantion and Budesonide and formoterol fumarate powder for inhalantion were selected from our hospital during Apr. to Nov. 2015. The reasons for poor com-pliance of handling inhaler devices were analyzed by QCC. The countermeasures were formulated to improve the compliance,in-cluding clinical pharmacist education,follow-up,issuing education manuals, developing WeChat consulting. Operation step score of inhaler devices, compliance score and activity ability score of QCC members were analyzed statistically before and after QCC. RESULTS:After the development of QCC,operation step score of inhaler devices and compliance score in 90 asthma/COPD outpa-tients increased from 7.7 and 7.7 before activity to 8.8 and 9.3 after activity, the achievable rate of compliance was 114.3%,and the improvement rate was 20.8%. The sense of honor,responsibility,self-confidence,QCC techniques, communication and coordi-nation,team cohesion of all members were all improved obviously. CONCLUSIONS:QCC activity improves the compliance of asthma/COPD outpatients handling inhaler devices and shows the professional service level of clinical pharmacists, which is of sig-nificance to the improvement of pharmaceutical care.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the application of rational drug use software system in drug dispensing in outpatient depart-ment of our hospital. METHODS:The application of rational drug use software system (included clinical decision support soft-ware,drug dispensing software and drug management software) in prescribing (warning in advance),dispensing (intervention in the event)and the prescription review(the post review)in outpatient department of our hospital were all introduced. Outpatient pre-scription checking and intervention were collected from our hospital after the application of rational drug use software system to evaluate the effect of the software system. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:Rational drug use software system is adopted to realize scientific, convenient and express monitoring and management of prescription drug use in advance,in the course and afterwards. A total of 721 507 outpatient prescriptions were checked in our hospital from Jan. to May in 2015;0.17‰prescriptions were intercept-ed by system warning;system pointed out and pharmacists had checked 23.25% prescriptions;the rate of qualified prescription was more than 99.96%. After pharmacists intervention, various types of irrational prescriptions decreased significantly (P<0.01). It is suggested that pharmacists should make full use of information system,at the same time, optimize and improve the system through active exploration so as to improve rational drug use.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To introduce the application of intelligent sorting system for prepared infusion in PIVAS of our hospi-tal. METHODS:Intelligent sorting system established by our hospital with barcode scanning technology and relevant hardware de-vices such as automatic drug sorting devices was introduced from system operation environment, system software design and sys-tem function. The effects of the system was evaluated through comparing with manual sorting mode. RESULTS:The intelligent sort-ing system used had such functions as sorting batch selection, intelligent sorting and discharging, information tracing management. Compared to manual sorting, the number of staff under intelligent sorting mode decreased from 7 to 2,sorting errors within 3 months were reduced by 99.0%(591 times vs. 6 times),and the daily sorting errors were reduced by 98.9%(6.57 times vs. 0.07 times). CONCLUSIONS:The system runs stably and sorts accurately, the errors is reduced, the working efficiency is improved and intensity of sorting is reduced, compared to manual sorting.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To promote the informationization and standardization of narcotic drug management so as to enhance the level of pharmacy management. METHODS:The function of intelligent narcotic drug management cabinet and its application in our hospital were introduced. The application effects were evaluated by comparing the indexes in 1 month(or 1 quarter)before and after the adoption of the cabinet. RESULTS:The intelligent narcotic drug management cabinet used in our hospital had such func-tions as login, getting drugs, adding drugs, expiration date management, inventory query, update, shifting of duty, record and da-ta processing. After the adoption, the inventory decreased by 35.2%,turnover rate increased by 53.4%;the time of applying for and registering narcotic drugs by the keeper of secondary warehouse respectively shortened by 84.1%(13.2 min vs. 2.1 min) and 88.9%(10.8 min vs. 1.2 min);and the incidence of external errors reduced from 3 times to once,an decrease of 66.7%. Mean-while,high integration of space improved the overall image of the pharmacy and the automatic pharmacy was constructed on a cer-tain scale and in a systematic manner. CONCLUSIONS:The application of intelligent narcotic drug management cabinet to the out-patient pharmacy can reduce the inventory cost, increase work efficiency and the safety of drug use,and make the narcotic drug management more standard, scientific and sophisticated.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the distribution of the common pathogenic bacteria and drug resistance in urinary tract infection for clinical reference of rational use of antibacterials. METHODS:The medical records of patients hospitalized in urinary surgery in our hospital from Jan. to Oct. in 2008 were retrospectively collected for analyses of the results of mid-stream urine culture and antibiotic resistance, meanwhile, the current utilization of antibacterials in urinary surgery was analyzed. RESULTS:Gram negative bacilli were the major pathogenic bacteria in urinary tract infection(61.82%),of which, escherichia coli represented 58.82%,and the resistant rates of the gram negative bacilli to imipenem,amikacin,cefoperazone/sulbactam and piperacillin/tazobactam were 8.82%,8.82%,11.76% and 11.76%,respectively. CONCLUSION:The antibiotics should be used rationally according to the result of susceptibility test in treating patients with urinary tract infection.
